25 Days of LNCHC

Day 1

Lake Norman Community Health Clinic is proud to celebrate 25 years of providing high-quality healthcare to the uninsured. Founded in 1998 by Dr. David Cook and April Cook, LNCHC tackled the issue of lack of access to healthcare for immigrants and the underserved.
Over the next 25 days, to celebrate 25 years of hope and healing, we will be sharing some clinic memories, updates, and stories.

Day 2

In 1998, Dr. David Cook began seeing patients in the back of a Mexican grocery store once a week after work. Within a year, 20-30 patients would wait hours to be seen. Learning of the need, four area churches took notice, and in 2001, the free clinic opened in the basement of First Baptist Huntersville’s basement. Volunteers from First Baptist, Meadowlake Presbyterian, St. Mark Catholic, and Davidson UMC would take a Wednesday evening every month to supply volunteers. The first night the clinic was open, over 100 patients lined up outside wanting to be seen.
